FOSSIL ORGANIC REMAINS. (To the Editor of the Westport Times and Charleston Argus.) Sib, —Having found a number of bones, large in size and peculiar in appearance, I beg leave to attempt a description of them, so far as my defioileney in technical and total want of pataontological knowledge will permit :
No. 1, A leg bone —length, 28in ; girth at small end LSVir., girth at large end 23in, girth in middle 12-|in. I No. 2, A leg bone —length, 24in ; girth at small end 12iin, large end 14jin, middle Bi-in. No. 3, A broken convex joint—girth 31 in. No. 4 and 5, Supposed thigh bones —length 13in, average girth 25in. No. 6, Supposed a bone of the foot length Bin; girth at the cuds llin, middle 7in.
I; No. 7, Supposed knee cap —diamatcr Gin, thickness 2i-in. No. 8 and 9, Small bones—can't make a guess where they belong. Any person learned or curious in such matters, and wishing to see the b»nes, can do so by calling at the New Gardens, South Beach.—l am, &c, Jonx Hodsok.
