A Brighton paper says : —Poor claimant! He does know Brighton, and in his local wanderings may have acquired a slight personal knowledge of Pimlico. What a solace for his Westminster Hall sufferings he will find, should this resolution of the Brighton Works Committee meet his eye, —" Kesolved, —That the " name of 1 Pimlico' be altered to ' Tichborne street.'" That is a celebrity. Apropos of such references, our readers must have seen how the name of " Tichborne" is being applied to lozenges and other articles. They connot, however, all have seen the advertisement of a Yorkshire upholsterer who proclaims the merit of a new couch in this wise: "The celebrated Tichborne Bedstead! Warranted to withstand the flop of 26 stone ! A marvel of combined cheapness and strength !" Why would tying a slow horse to a post seem to improve his pace ? Because it would mike him fast.
