POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK
The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th, publishes the following regulations foi the banks as above newly established at Christ church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akraoa Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the'rate of 4 per cent, per annum lis given on .£2OO and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on »ums under £500; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete £\ deposited, provided that no interest be allowed on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post-Omce Saving.s Banks have direct Security for the prompt repayment of theiicconey. 3. A deposiwr in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue Ujs deposits at any other of such Banks, and cf4ft*withdraw Ms money at that Post Office BknkWhich is most convenient to him by .giving ift&ce of his removal. 4. The strictest secresy is observed with respect to the names of depositor in Post Office Banks, ancl the amounts of their deposits. r 6. Money may be deposited by or ifl behalf of minors. Depositors over seven years of age are treated as persons of full age 'wt •minors under sev«n years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have readied n the age of £even. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in each District on tbc business of Post Office Savings Banks, and the replies sent thereto are free fron cnargfi or postage.
