Mr John Seaton CLERK OP THE COURSE: Mr T. Jones. FIRST DAY, MONDAY, JANUABY Ist, 1872. FIRST RACE. Maiden Plate of 10 sovs., for all horses that have never won an advertised race. One mile and a distance. Weight for age. Entry £l. SECOND RACE. The Buller Handicap of 25 bovs. Two and a half miles. Entry 3 sovs. third race. The Inangahua Handicap of 15 sovs., for all horses regularly employed in packing or regularly worked on the Nelson South-West Goldfields for three months previous to the races. Heats about a mile. Entry £2. FOURTH race. Handicap Hurdle Race of 15 sovs. Two miles, over a flight of hurdles. Entry 2 sovs. SECOND DAY. TUESDAY, JANUARY 2nd. first race. Butchers' Purse Handicap, of 10 sovs. Entry 1 sov. Heats about a mile. Open to Butchers' horses only. second race. Westport Handicap of 40 sovs. Two miles. Entry 4 sovs. THIRD RACE. The Ladies' Purse of 15 sovs. Entry £l. One and a half miles. Weight for age. Qualification to jump a hurdle opposite to the Grand Stand. FOURTH RACE. Buller Hurdle Handicap of 20 sovs. Two miles. Entry 2 sovs. fifth race. Consolation Stakes of 10 sovs, (if funds available), for all horses beaten at the meeting. One and a half mile. Post entry of 1 sov. Rules and Regulations. No entries will be received for any of the races except on the following conditions: That all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall be final. The rules of the Westport Jockey Club strictly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of £1 to the race fund. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Stewards, at the Post Office Hotel. Entrance money to be enclosed with the name and age of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. No jockey allowed to ride except in the colours entered, under a penalty of £1 Is. There must be three entries, or no race. All entries to be sent in, addressed to the Stewards, Westport, on the 28th December, at 9 p.m. All prizes paid at the Post Office Hotel, 3rd January, at 9 p.m.

NOTICE is HEREBY GIVEN, that on and after January 19tb, 1872, the provisions of ': The Cattle Trespass Act, 1868," will be enforced on my Land, being Section 194. and 195, Square. 141, and Section 240, Square 141, Buller District; and that it is my intention to Claim Damages for all cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, or other animals trespassing on the Land, whether the same be fenced or unenclosed.
