PURSUANT to the Provisions of " The Education Act, 1863," the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the Annual RATE imposed by the said Act upon all Householdersresiding within the Educational Districts, will be LEVIED on TUESDAY, the Ist day of August; and that the same will be received between the hours of Ten a.m. and Four p.m., namely— School-house, Stoke, by E. Dresswell Agricultural Hall, Waimea East, by William Steer School-house, Waimea West, by George Walker School-house, Riwaka, by E. P. Pattie House of G. Taylor, Takaka, by G. Taylor. Police Station, Collingwood, by John Fisher * Court-house, Cobden, by S. G. Rowley Court-house, Westport, by the Sergeant of Police, W. A. Kiely School-house, Motupiko, by George Flower School-house, Dovedale, by Job Best He aforesaid Act requires that " evi ry Householder in each Educational District shall pay annually Twenty Shillings, and a further sum of Five Shillings for every child of such Householder between the ages of five and fourteen years • Provided always, that iiO person shall be liable to pay for mere than four children, nor for any child residing more than three miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school not established under this Act, in respect of whom such persons shall produce to the Collector a certificate 'signed by the teacher of sucL school, showing fiat such child has attended during the three mouthy previous to the levying of the rate."
