Miscellaneous. Government Annuities Office, Wellington, Ist Dec, 1870. TOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Government Insurance and Annuities Offices, under " The GovernAnnuities Act, 18G9," and " The New Zealand Government Insurance and Annuities Act, 1870," have been opened at the Post Offices at WESTPORT CHARLESTON GREYMOUTII And all the principal Money Order Offices in the colony. The following advantages are secured by special provisions in the abovementioned Acts : 1. Up to a certain amount, Assurance Policies bonajide effected by the Assured upon his own life, and Endowment Policies, aud Annuities purchased for the benefit of Wife or Childbek, are exempted from the operation of the Bankruptcy Acts, and from seizure under legal process. 2. Up to a cerlain amount, Married Women may effect Policies, and dispose of the money assured by will, as if single ; and such Policies are free from the debts and control of their husbands. 3. Insurances may be effected for the benefit of wife and childben, with power to apportion amount; and such insurance is to be free from the claim of creditors, to the extent of £2OOO. All persona wishing to obtain Life Insurances, Endowments, Annuities immediate or deferred, or other advantages under the Acts, will receive every information and the necessary forms on application at any of the above-named offices. W. GISBORNE. NIVERSITY OE OTAGO. The following mentioned Classes will be opened in the University Building, Dnnedin, about the beginning of June, 1871: 1. Classics. —Separate Classes for Junior and Senior Latin, Greek, and the English Language and Literature. Professor: G. 8. Sale, M.A., late of Rugby, and formerly Pellow and Classical Lecturer, Trinity College, Cambridge. 2. Mathematics. — Separate Classes for Junior and Senior Mathematics ; Junior and Senior Natural Philosophy. Professor: John Shand, M.A., formerly First Mathematical Master in the Royal Academy, Gosport, England; and the Edinburgh Academy. 3. Mental and Moral Philosophy. — Classes for Logic, Mental Science, Moral Philosophy, and Political Economy. Professor: D. Macgregor, M.A., M.8., late Ferguson Scholar, in Mental and Moral Science. 4. Natural Science. Classes for Chemistry, Mineralogy, &c., will be opened in May, 1872. Professor: J. G.
