REEFTON.
(from our own correspondent). .Reefton, Monday. There has been considerable excitement here this week owing to the number of shares which have changed hands. Among the purchasers are Mr Leslie and Mr Hughes, of Westport, and it is also stated Mr lioberts, of Hokitika. Mr Robinson, of Nelson, au experienced Victorian reefer, has purchased a half share in Nos. 1 and 2 South, Shiels's, for £220. He has also purchased two quarter shares in Adam Smith's line for .£125 and £135 each. A large number of Greymouth and Hokitika business men have purchased interests during the week, which has been the means of makhog money more plentiful. Some excitement has arisen in consequence of a rush having taken place on Kelly's line of reef. The ground being taken up to the left-hand branch of the Inangahua. Two claims have been marked out on the other side of the river. There is a possibility of the reef being traced for miles along the unbroken line of ranges. Mr Wilkie has succeeded in getting the boat conveying the boiler for Mr M'Lean's machinery as far as Deadman's Ford,sixteen miles fromEeefton.
