PURSUANT to the Provisions of " The Education Act, 1863," the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the Annual EATE imposed by the said Act upon all Householdersresiding within the Educational Districts, will be LEVIED on TUESDAY, the Ist day of August; and that the same will be received between the hours of Ten a.m. and Four p.m., namely— School-house, Stoke, by E. Dresswell Agricultural Hall, Waimea East, by William Steer School-house, Waimea West, by George Walker School-house, Eiwaka, by E. P. Pattie House of G. Taylor, Takaka, by G. Taylor. Police Station, Collingwood, by John Fisher Court-house, Cobden, by S. G. Eowley Court-house, Westport, by the Sergeant of Police, W. A. Kiely School-house, Motupiko, by George Flower School-house, Dovedale, by Job Best 'The aforesaid Act requires that " every Householder in each Educational District shall pay annually Twenty Shillings, and a further sum of Five Shillings for every 'child of such Householder between the ages of five and fourteen years: Provided always, that n.o person shall be liable to. pay for more than four children, nor for any chiid residing more than three jniles, from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school not .established under tnia Act, in respect of whom such persons shall produce to the Collector a certificate signed by the teacher of such school, showing fiat such child has attended during the tHroo. months previous to the levying of tho rate."
