Consolation Stakes of 10 sovs., (if funds available), for all horses beaten at the meeting. One and a half mile. Post entry of 1 sov. Eules and Regulations. No entries will be received for any of the races except on the following conditions:— That all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall be final. Tho rules of the Westport Jockey Club strictly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as tho bona fide property of a subscriber of £1 to the race fund. The foregoing rule will not affect persons who have horses entered for the Butchers' Purse, or the Consolaton Stakes. All entries to be sealed and ad-dressed-to the Stewards, at the Post Office Hotel. Entrance money to be enclosed with the name and age of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. No jockey allowed to ride except in the colours entered, under a penalty of £1 Is. There must be three entries, or no race. All entries to be sent in, addressed to the Stewards, Westport, on the 28th December, at 9 p.m. All prizes paid at the Post Office Hotel, 3rd January, at 9 p.m.
