Wellington, Dec. 6. Mr Waterhouse has resigned bis seat ia the Ministry. Mr Orinond was sworn iu to-day as Minister of Public Works. Mr Reeves has bean appointed Resident Minister for the Middle Island. Farther Fiji news says that Captain Sinclair of the schooner Cambria was killed while collecting labour. The vessel was then taken to Levuka with two natives ou board. During the night natives from the shore boarded and killed Thorpe and Pullford iu charge, ran the vessel out of the harbour, released the prisoners and escaped. Another schooner was attacked at Solomon Islands, but none was killed. Dunedin, December 6. The annual report of the Chamber of Commerce shows the Province's export of wool for the present year to be 13,244,594 lbs, and gold 169,203 ozs. The report contaius strong remarks relative to the imposition of the new Stamp Duties. The escort amounts to 14,598 ozs. Auckland, December 4. Extensive alluvial goldnelds are reported to have been discovered in the Waikato district. The Government are going to test the accuracy of the report. The latest news from Fiji reports that the natives are greatly exasperated at the labour trade. Amongst others murdered are Capt. Sinclair of the schooner Cambria, and two of his crew. Caledonian shares, £72 ; Thames, £35 7s ; Tookey's, £4l. Wellington, December 5. A collision is reported to have occurred off Castle Point between the steamer Napier and the schooner Enterprise. No particulars are to hand.
The s.B. Luna sailed to-day to visit tho lighthouses, and will also search for the .Rifleman.
