PURSUANT to the Provisions of " The Education Act, 1863," the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the Annual RATE imposed by the said Act upon all Householders residing within the Educational Districts, will be LEVIED on TEESDAY, the Ist dnv of August; and that the same will be received between the hours of Teu a.m. and Pour p.m., namely— School-house, Stoke, by E. Dresswell Agricultural nail, Waimca East, by William Steer School-house, Waimea West, ■by George Walker School-house, Riwaka, bv E. P. Pattie House of G. Taylor, Takaka, by G Taylor. Police Station, Coilingwood, bv John Fisher Court-houso, Cobden, by S. G. Rowley Court-house, Westport, by the Sergeant of Police, W. A. Kiely School-house, Motupiko, by George Flower School-house, Dovedale, by Job Best The aforesaid Act requires that " every Householder in each Educational District shall pay annually Twenty Shillings, and a further sum of F'ive Shillings for every child of such Householder between the ages of five and fourteen year?: Provided always, that no person shall be liable to pay for more than four children, nor for any child residing more than three miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school not established under this A"t, in respect of whom such persons shall produce to the Collector a certificate signed by the teacher of such school, showing that such child has attended during the thr mouths previous to the levying of the rate."
