Mr H. F. Pureell, the English barrister, and one of the counsel for the defendants in the Tichborne case, who has recently arrived in Melbourne, asked for leave to convey to England, for use in the Tichborne trial, the books of the local police court, containing the names oftheTprisoners and tlie charges brought agaiust them during the years 1858-60. This request was accompanied by an oifcr to enter into bonds to return the books within a certain time, as well as to pay all expenses iu their respect. The Solicitor-General has decide! that the request cannot be granted.—Melbourne Paper.
