The steamship Tararua arrived at the Bluff, on Thursday. She left Melbourne on the 4th instant, and brings 534 tons of cargo, 58 horses, 23 saloon passengers, and 51 in the steerage. Melbourne, Nov. 4.
Henderson's action for libel against the "Daily Telegraph," in consequence of articles published in that journal in reference to the Nunawading affair, resulted in a verdict for plaintiff, damages one farthing. Improper intimacy was strenuously denied. Kissing in the presence of the husband was admitted. A meeting was held at the Criterion Hotel to express Bympathy and get up a fund to recoup the "Telegraph" the law costß. A. considerable sum was collected.
The Assembly after much opposition c&rried a resolution for a bonus of £3OOO to be voted to Sir Francis Murphy, ex-Speaker, instead of a pension. New gold diggings have been opened k) the western district, near Hamilton. )
The Alfred Hospital Bazaar realised £2500.
The Legislative Assembly voted £IOOO to Dr Lang, of Sydney, for his services in effecting the separation of Victoria from New South Wales.
The Assembly also voted £IOOO to the widow of Mr Fraser,. late Member of Parliament. The cricket match between the Parliament and the press was won by the former. The Customs Bill was reconsidered by the Legislative Council and passed.
News has been received via Sydney, that Rosenwachs had been apprehended at Fiji. The Fiji Government surrendered him, but Rosenwachs and his friends made a desperate resistance, and one man was wounded.
Mining speculation is quieter. New Zealand wheat has been auctioned at about ss. Four, £l3; wheat, 6s. Sugars have advanced .£1 per ton.

The Navigation Board fined the captain of the Nevada for having declined to give evidence respecting collision with the A. H. Badger. Tho investigation being ex parte the Board declined to give a decision, but expressed their regret that the officers in charge of the Nevada offered no assistance to the vessel.
Bennett, of the Aurora, has been committed for trial on a charge of flogging seamen.
A carriage accident occurred to Mr John Fairfax, Mrs Charles Fairfax, and Mrs Grafton Row. The last named died subsequently. Jane Develine has been sentenced to death for infanticide. The Bank of New South Wales has declared a dividend of ten per cent. A swordfish weighing one ton has been taken on Manly Beach. White sugars are advancing. Tookey's, £25 5s to £25 10s.
