NEW REVENUE DUTIES.

TO COMMENCE NOVEMBER 20. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. (from our own correspondent.) Wellington, Nov. 2. The following new taxes have been adopted by a large majority : Receipts for all monoys amounting to £2 and upwards, one penny. Grain, ninepence per 100 lbs. Flour, one shilling per 100 lbs. Rice, one halfpenny per lb. Hops, threepence per lb. Malt, eighteenpence per bushel. Soap, three shillings and sixpence per cwt. A tax has also beeu imposed upon timber. O'Conor and White opposed the duty proposals. Harrison was against the bill, but did not vote, and paired off. Tribe supported the bill. The altered customs tariff will commence on November 20. The Annexation scheme will be brought on to-night. Wellington, Nov. 3. In consequence o&its being doubtful whether the We'stland Boundaries Bill will pass, Mr Harrison supported by other goldfields' members will bring forward a resolution for the withdrawal of the delegated powers by the Governor from the Nelson Superintendent, and the County Chairman of Westland. A patent has been taken out in England for converting goats' hair for ladies use.
