PURSUANT to the Provisions of JL " The Education Act, 1563," the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the Annual RATE imposed by the said Act upon all Householdarsresiding within the Educational Districts, will be LEVIED on TUESDAY, the Ist day of August; and that the same will be received between the hours of Ten a.m..and Four p.m., namely — School-house, Stoke, by E. Dresswell Agricultural Hall, Waimea East, by William Steer . School-house, Waimea West, iby George Walker School-house, Eiwaka, by E. P. Pattie House of G. Taylor, Takaka, by G. Taylor. Police Station, Collingwood, by John Fisher Court-house, Cobden, by S. G. Rowley Court-house, Westport, by the Sergeant of Police, W. A. Kiely School-house, Motupiko, by -George Flower School-house, Dovedale, by -Job Rest The aforesaid Act requires that " every Householder in each Educational District shall pay annually Twcufcy Shillings, and a further sum of Five Shillings for every child of such Householder between the ages of five andvfourtcen year*: Provided always, that no person shall be liable to pay for more tban four children, nor for any child residing more than three miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school not established \indcr this Act, in respect of whom such persons shall produce to the Collector a certificate signed by the teacher of such school, showing fiat such child has attended during the three months previous to the levyiug »of the rate."
