LATEST TELEGRAMS.

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington, Oct. 4. The first part of the Education Bill has been passed in Committee. Clergymen are to be ineligible for the office of Inspectorships. It is the general impression that the Bill will not be passed this session. There is a prospect of arrangements being come to, giving adequate share of revenue to a Local Board on the West Coast Goldfields. The Government are favourable to the proposition.

A Bill has been introduced to amend the Licensing Act of the Colony.
