Messrs Graham Greenwood and TJ Or. Macarthy, J.P.'s, sat in the KosW dent Magistrate's, Court, on Monday last, and disposed of a few unimportant cases.

In consequence of Mr Broad being] absent attending a mining conference' in Westport, there was no Warden's Court held op Monday or Tuesday. A meeting was held at the Melbourne hotel, on Tuesday, for the purpose of establishing a Cricket Club in Charles. ton.. It was resolved that a club be formed, the subscription to be five shillings per member. Messrs Jones and Kelling wen* appointed to canvass for members ' and subscriptions. Mr James was appointed hon. secretary and treasurer.

The Oddfellows celebrated their anniversary on Monday evening by a procession numbering over sixty, who marched in regalia, preceded by a band through the town. The ball and banquet were held at the European Hotel, and were well attended. The banquet was prepared in Messrs Weitzel and Vervega's best style, aud •jave general satisfaction. The danc* ing was spiritedly sustained through* out the night, and the programme was not completed until & late hour the following morning.
