The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th, jublishes the following regulations foi the >anks as above newly established at Christ :hurch, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akraoj tlokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westport ind Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per mnum is given on £2OO and under ; at the •ate of 3 per cent, per annum on suras mder £SOO ; and in the same proportion for my shorter time on every complete £1 dejosited, provided that no interest be allowed )n more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Saving!s Banks have duvet Government Security for ;he prompt repayment of their money. 3. A deposiwr In any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other )f such Banks, and can withdraw his money it that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his removal. 4. The strictest secresy is observed with respect to the names of depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their deposits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on bi« half of minors. Depositors over seven years af age are treated as persons of full age, but minors under seven years of age cannot with- i iraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in each District on the business of Post Office Sav. ings Banks, and the replies sent thereto are free fron. caarge or postage.
