A NEW SCHEME OF RUSSIAN AGGRESSION.
Russia is pushing a scheme of aggression at the expense of Sweden. The Swedish Government intending to establish a colony for scientific purposes in Spitzbergen, it seems that Bussia has availed herself of this opportunity to claim Spitzbergen as her. , own. At the same time the Russian press have been instructed to mention what they would be. willing to take for it. It js no less than Warimg Bay, in Northern Norway, and the strip of land between it and .the Busso-Finnish frontier. Warang Bay, being touched by the Gulf Streanj, never freezes, and has, therefore, more than once been coveted by Bussia. It is not very probable, however, that the sovereignity over so valuable an inlet, which would render Bussia independent of the Powers guarding the entrance of the Baltic, will be given up in exchange for a desert land near the North Pole.
