THE ENTERTAINMENT AT ADDISON'S.
[Communicated.] The entertainment given on Tuesday evening at Addison's, in aid of the funds of the Westport District Hospital was a great success. Mr Lush read from a well-selected list of authors, extracts of a pleasing, instructive, and amusing character, to the delight of his hearers, which was manifested by repeated and continuous applause. The extracts from " Pickwick" and from an "Unpublished Book," wore received with marks of high favour. A very important feature in tho evening's entertainment was tho presence of Mrs Gallagher, who played appropriate airs and marches between the readings, and sung in a delightful manner several well-selected songs, which were all, with one exception, encored. To this lady is due a largo share of tho credit of tho success of the entertainment. Mrs Duffy also played during the interval. Altogother a most enjoyable three hours were the result. The Rev. Eather Walsh presided. A yote of thanks to Mr Lush for his efforts was moved by Mr Gallagher, and seconded by Mr Noon, and carried by acclamation. In returning thanks, Mr Lush proposed a vote of thanks to the ladies who had assisted, and to tho Rev. Chairman, which was also carried with loud applause. By special desire the entertainment, with change of programme is to be repeated on Saturday evening next—for the same object. '
