POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25tl> publishes the following regulations fo> tjj, banks as above newly established at Christ churcli, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akrarj Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, pe, annum is given on .£2OO and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on jumj under £SOO ; and in the same proportion f« any shorter time on every complete £i deposited, provided that no interest be alloiv«| on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Saving Banks have direct Government Security ft, the prompt repayme/it of their m6ney. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his » moval. 4. The strictest secreay is observed wii, respect to the names of depositors in Poj Office Banks, and the amounts of their aY posits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on t| half of minors. Depositors over seven yean of age are treated as persons of full age, | minors under seven years of age cannot wit!, draw their deposits until they have reachi the age of seven. 7.
