POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazette, of March* 25th publishes the following regulations foi the banks as above newly established at Christ church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akr ar >i Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Wcstpott and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent. p e j annum is given on .£2OO and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on sumj under £SOO ; and in the same proportion f of any shorter time on every complete £1 jj. posited, provided that no interest be allowed on more than ,£.">oo. ' 2. Depositors in the Post Office Saving Banks have duvet Government Security for the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A deposiU/r in any one of the Post OSes Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his monej at that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his & moral. 4. The strictest secresy is observed with respect to the names of depositors in m ( Iffice Banks, and the amounts of their deposits. fi. Money may be deposited by or on k< half of minors.
