(pes geeville's telegbam company, eeutee's agents). Nelson, July 11. Manson Sinclair, son of Daniel Sinclair, solicitor, was shot while practising with a detonating needle revolver. One charge would not go off, and while trying to adjust it the pistol exploded, the ball entering his stomach. Sinclair was able to walk into the house, to say he was shot, and lie down. He is still alive but without hope of recovery. Auckland Via Tauranga, July 12. The weather during the past week has been very stormy, with terrific squalls of had and rain. There have been two fatal accidents by drowning. Locke arrived overland at Cambridge on Monday from Napier. He had an interview with Ngatuauka and was with Te Whihi on the sth and 6th. The road from Auckland to Napier is now open. The Earl and Countess of Belmore returned to Sydney by the s.s. Hero on Saturday.

Hoskins and Miss Colville hav returned to Auckland after a most successful season at the Thames, and are performing to crowded houses. All mining stock has still a downward tendency. Caledonians sold to-day at £100; Thames, £22; Tookev, £24; Alburnia, £8 ; Otago, £2 15s. The Caledonian Co. will pay a £G dividend to-morrow ;. Thames, £1 ; Tokatea, ss. The total amount of gold received from the Thames during the month is £34,500 ozs. The Alburnia completed their fortnight's crushing to-day, the result being 989 ozs.
