A lady at Poughkeepsie, U. N., has been badly poisoned in the hands by wearing green kid gloves. The Roman Catholic college of Maynooth, the grant to which was withdrawn under the Act for the Disestablishment of the Irish Church, has received from the Church Commissioners the sum of £360,000 by way of compensation.
