It is estimated that thirty tons of quartz from the new tunnel yielded two dwts of retorted gold, and ten tons of quartz from a new leader in the middle of the claim yielded two dwts of gold. The drive along the reef is in seventy feet, and the stone has changed in appearance, becoming more like the stone in the old tunnel. LATEST MELBOURNE COMMERCIAL. Bi/uff, July 1. The s.g. Tararua arrived here this morniDg, and brings Melbourne dates to June 26. The flour market is quiet. Transactions have taken place in New Zealand wheat at 6s 8d ; and in oats at 3s 9d. A large sale is reported of Adelaide wheat privately at 6s. In the Sydney market sugars show a decliue of £2 per ton.
