25,781 21,020 46,801 The population of the province according to the censtis returns in 1867 was 38,448, so that there has been a immerical 'increase daring the three years of 8,353, or at the rate of nearly 22 per cent. The alteration which has taken place in the Electoral districts since the census of 1867 pre■cludes a comparison in that direction.
