EESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT. Thursday, June 8. (Before C. Broad, Esq., E.M.) Thomas and M'Beath v. Irwin.— Amount £6 9s 6d. Judgment by default. Thomas and M'Beath v. Davis.— Amount £3. Judgment by default. Simpson and M'Kee v. Morgan.— Judgment summons. Mr Shapter appeared for plaintiffs*, and examined defendant as to his ability to pay. The Court made an order for the defendant to pay 20s immediately, and 20s per week, or in default 14 days' imprisonment. Simpson and M'Kee v. Lupton.— This was a similar case to the last one, and the same order was made.

Granted. Graham and party.—Protection for dam. Granted. William Rowe and party.—Protection for claim. Granted. Charles Jones. —Protection for residence area. Application refused. Daniel O'Brien and party.—Protection for claim. Granted. Edward Barbazet and party.—Tramway. Granted. Edmund O'Connor and mate.— Double area claim. Granted. Mr Parker applied to the Warden for an order to have some parties, who were bxiilding on the street surveyed alongside the Church of England reserve prevented from proceeding with it. The Warden instructed the police to order them to desist.
