CHARLESTON RESERVOIR.
Subjoined are the conditions of the agreement entered into between Haines, Jackson, and others, holders of certain water rights, at Charleston, and the Superintendent : 1. Haiues and Company are limited to a charge of six pounds per Government sluice-head day and night per week, where the tail water cannot be re-let. 2. Where the water is or can be relet, a sum not exceeding four pounds weekly per sluice-head shall be charged. 3. For a sluico-head of the first tailwater not more than three pounds weekly per head shall be charged ; and for a sluice-head of the second tail-water not more than two pounds weekly per head. Should Haines and Company infringe any of the above conditions, and should charge, demand, or receive any larger sum than above specified, all dams, water-rights, reservoirs, and races held by them shall become absolutely forfeited and surrendered.
