In addition to the £l5O voted by the Council during the session of 1870 for the expenses of a Q-oldfields Representative, a further sura of £l5O has been voted by the Council to Mr Donne for expenses. The Mount Rochfort Railway is recommended to be undertaken under the Public Works Act. The Provincial Council is expected to be closed to-morrow. Dunedin, May 30. John Stark, foreman in the graving dock, fell from the top to the bottom of the dock, on Saturday night, and died yesterday. The Otago Ministry are out on a motion of Mr Reid's in the Provincial Council, which was carried by 26 to 15. Reid, Butler, and Bathgate, or Mervyr, are reported as probable members of the new Executive. The Mining Commission recommend a prohibitory enactment to stay the influx of Chinese. Rennie, the informant m the Clyde gold robbery, has received a free pardon.
