The Victorian Government have taken the initiative in the matter of Intercolonial Legislation by the appointment of a Commission to consider that subject, as also to consider the propriety of establishing a common Court of Appeal within tho Colonies. The Commissioners have issued a report which treats on the following matters: —The power to issue executions following the judgment of the court of one Colony in any or all of the other Colonies; the necessity of united action in respect to the law of bankruptcy, and the extension of the effects of insolvency proceedings throughout the Colonies; proceedings in the probate of wills, or the administration of the estates of deceased persons in the courts of one Colony to be recognised in those of all the other Colonies; the extradition of offenders. Under the term extradition crimes, the Commissioners propose to include all felonies, desertions of wife and children, fraudulent insolvencies, absconding from creditors, breaches of trust, and indictable misdemeanours.
