TW schooner Maid of Erin, Captain Cairns, left Port Philip heads on the morning of the 14th instant, carried light easterly weather through B;-.ss to Swan Island, from which had strong westerly winds until sighting the New Zealand coast, off the Steeple?, on Wednesday. Brought up in the roadstead that afternoon, and wn:i towed over the bar on Thursday by the steamer Kennedy. Captain Cairns reports the ("ores as having left the Heads, bound for West-port, the day bofore the Moid of Erin. The brigantino Ceres, Captain Kensctt, reached the roadstead from Melbourne yesterday, bu', owinr to having been too far in the oiling to the northwards at high water, eou'd not be towed in.by tin. Charles Edward. Mie may, however, he brought over the bar during next tide by the Murray, and will bo berthed at the Kennedy street Wharf.
The Wiillabi left Wanganui at 10 a.m. on Sunday, experienced heavy weather in Cook's Straits, and had to put into Port Hardy the following morning. Eemained sheltering until the afternoon of the following day ; had light northerly winds until abreast of Cape Farewell sandspit, where she brought up the same evening at dark. Got under weigh the same night, but had to put back, wind blowing hard from south-west, under the sandspit. Weather moderating on Thursday; she left for the Buller at 6 p.m.; had high cross seas until reaching the bar yesterday, at 2 p.m. Captain Daniels reports the following vessels lying under the Sandspit:— Schooner Kiuma and Mary von Every for Greymouth, and the Mavis. A largo ketch went ashore on the sandspit during tho height of the gale on Wednesday night; her name had not been ascertained when the Wallabi left
