POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The Neio Zealand Gazette, of March 25th publishes the following regulations foi the banks as above newly established at Chrut church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akran» Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent. p e j annum is given on £2OO and under; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on »umi under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete £\ deposited, provided that no interest be allowed on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office SavingU Banks have dLrect Government Security tit the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A deposits in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any othet of such Banks, and can withdraw his monej at that Post Office Bank which is most con' venient to him by giving notice of his «• moval. 4. The strictest secresy is observed with respect to the names of depositors in Po«» Office Banks, and the amounts of their dV posits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on behalf of minors. Depositors over seven yean of ase are treated as persons of full age, bnt mirrors under seven years of age cannot withdraw- their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in each District on tfic business of Post Office Sav. ings Banks, and the replies sent thereto are free from cnarge or postage.
