In our recent comments upon the Grey Annexation question, we pointed out the declining productiveness of that portion of the County of Westland as a reason, together with the proportion of the County liabilities which would have to be taken over, that the Council should decline the proposition. In proof of the correctness of the statement then advanced, we subjoin the returns for the past quarter showing the quantities of gold shipped from Greymouth, the produce of the Nelson and Westland portions of the Grey district. The total exports amounted to 22,4950z., of which 14,7190z. were the produce of this Province, and 77760z. the produce of the County of Westland.
