(PER GREYI&LE's TELEGRAM COIIPANST, reuter's agents). Nelson, May 3. A resolution will be brought forward to-night to repeal the Executive Ordinance of last session. The resolution is likely to be carried, thus returning to the old order. The Council passed resolutions in favour of the railway to Brunner and to Foxhill, but tho majority of the members, disconnected with tho town of Nelson, were against the course of route, on the ground that a railway was not required. There is a general feeling in favor of opening up tho Inangahua and Buller Valleys. Mr O'Conor's resolution for £ISOO, to be placed on tho Estimates for a towing track up the Buller river, comes on to-night, and is likely to be well received.
In reply to Mr Eeid, tho Gtovomment stated that there was no raten-
toution of moving iu the matter of tho Mount Eochfort coal-field. Blenheim, May 3. A second firo was discovered on board the barque. Malay at three o'clock on Tuesday morning, but was extinguished. According to the statement of persons who have arrived from Port Underwood, the fire originated between some bales of flax and the skin of the vessel. The upper cargo consisted of (lax, wool and grain. Tho outside only of the flax bales was burnt. The fire destroyed and damaged 30 bales wool, 45 bales flax, and GO sacks grain. The vessel is uninsured, but all the cargo is insured. It is expected that nu enquiry will be held. The circumstances are said to be suspicious, but the cause of the fire is at present unknown. The master of the vessel was absent in Wauganui when the occurrence took place. LATEST MELBOURNE COMMERCIAL. Bluff, May 3. Melpoukne, April 27. Hour £l4 to £l4 15s. J.D.K.Zj Geneva realised at auction lis 3|d per case, large contents. Taranaki, May 1. Patea, May 3. Tawhiao has written to Tito Kowaru telling him to kill the pakehas. Tito Kowaru replied that he would not as he intended to await the decision of tho Government about placing him and his people on their land so that they may remain at peace. The " Taranaki News " did not appear on Saturday as usual.
