It is proposed to give a banquet to the officers of the Nevada, to celebrate the inauguration of the service. A horrible tragedy took place at Caversbam this morning. A woman named M'Phee cut her child's throat with a butcher's knife, almost severing the head from the body. She then attempted suicide, inflicting wounds from the effects of which she is not expected to recover.
