CORRESPONDENCE.

While desirous to give publicity to the discatsioti of matters of public interest, we art ■not necessarily to be identified with fa opinions of our correspondents. (To the Editor of the Westport Times id Charleston Argus J. Sir—Permit me through the medium of your valuable journal to call attention to a particular incident which I think requires both comment and explanation. Tenders are called for in the " Charleston Herald," by George Donne, G-oldflelds representative, ft [ the repair of the coach road. Tender) are to be sent in to him at the Warden's Office. Is Mr Donne going to pay for the repairs of the road, or W Government of the Province ? I thinl he should say so, as that might affed the tenders. If the Government, fflj are not the tenders sent to the G* vomment officer, who generally receives them ? If he is absent, or frou some other cause unfit to receive them surely the Government have a trud' worthy official in the district to do M work, without imposing upon « Donne a work and responsibility jfbfcj is not his. I object to it because » have never believed in Donne, and H knows it; therefore I think he is n* ther a competent nor a proper pe^ 3 to deal with public tenders, and If* one will send no tender in to him. J.% Charleston, March 28.
