GENERAL SUMMARY.
The Germans have occupied the whole of tbe outer forts of Paris, and will enter the city on February 19. Vessels have been despatched from all the chief porta of Europe and America with contributions of provisions for Paris. A mass meeting at Bordeaux was called for the prosecution of the war to the bitter end.
A mixed English and American commission is to assemble at Washing-
ton for the consideration of dinn Fisheries troubles. It is understood that Mr Vogel has made a new coatract with Webb foil the conveyance of mails to New Zealand. A "Southern Cross" Extra saya that Hall's line is to he continued. The Hawaiian Government have guaranteed a subsidy of £25,000 per annum for two years, commencing January 1, 1871. It is the general impression of merchants in San Francisco that Webb's line will not start at all, and if it do, it will only be as an experiment.
