Per Kennedy, for Hokitika—2 cases almond", M'Nee and Co. The p,s. Charles Edward, Captain Holmes, to>k her departure from Greymouth yesterday ut 5.15 a.m. v and reached Westport at 3 p.m. She left the same tide for Nelson. We notice that the steamer Murray has been purchased by Mr hilgour of Grey-mouth, ■who has placed her ouco more in the West Coast Ir.ide. This favorite little boat arrived at Westport from Nelson, via Motueka, on Tuesday at 3 p.m., towing in the schooner Maid of Erin from Milbourne. She left the same evening for Greyniouth after discharging cargo. Captain Palmer retains the conitmand. The schooner Maid of Erin, Capt. Cairns, 'left Melbourne for Wcstport, on the 27th itlt„ nt 7 p.m.. and met with light, variable wjnus until the 4th instant, when she encountered a severe gale from south to SjUth-east, which continued for forty-eight hours. Prom thence variable winds were experienced with much rain. Made the land off Charleston about noon on the Bth, And from that time until her arrival had strong northerly winds with rain. Anchored in the roadstead at 9 p.m. on the 13th inst., and was towed across the bar by the steamer Murray at' 3 p.m. the following day, malting fust at the Bright street wharf. She is e.insig?el to Messrs Spence Bros, and Co. The s.s. Kennedy, Captain Whitwell, from Nelson, arrived nt Weitport on Tuesday, at 2 p.m„ having left the former port at noon the previous day. She sailed the same evening for Qreymouth and Hokitika, The s.s. Wallabi, Captain Daniels, left Wanganui on Monday, at 2 p.m., and arrived at Wcstport on Wednesday at 4.30 u.m., sailing the following tide for Qreymouth. The ketch Standard left Wcstport for Charleston, with a cargo of general merchandise, yesterday at 4 p.m.
