The ketch Angelina arrived with a cargo of coals iron) Gieviuouth on Saturday last. The Anchor Line s.s. Kennedy arrived from Nelson on Friday evening, and proceeded south'on Sunday morning. The p.s. Charles Edward arrived -from south on Saturday, crossing tho bar on the morning's tide, and shortly afterwards sailed for Nelson. The schooner Three Friends sailed yesterday evening, in company with the ketch Standard, both vessels being bound for Charleston with full cargoes. Ihe Standard on her return proceeds to the Karainea. The schooner 10, Captain Peai-n, was towed rut by the s.s. Kennedy on Sunday morning, ■ bound for Melbourne, The SiS. Wallabi arrived on Saturday morning from Wanganui. She sailed tho same tide for Grcyinouth. A re; ort has reached us, from what we believe to be reliable sources, that the sailing Bhip Silver Eagle, having on board the headquarters and right wing of the 2nd Battalion 18th Koyal Irish, has been Wrecked off Capo Horn while on her wyage to England from Australia. We are pleased to learn that no lives were lost, though none of the baggage of the troops was saved.—" United Service Gazette." The time that the accident to the Airedale occurred is said to have been between three and four in the morning, and that during the night a light north-easterly breeze; had been blowii g off the land, accompanied by a smooth sea. Had the sea been rough, at the time, the consequences would have been much more serious. As the reef or detached rocks on which the Airedale struck lie to the northward of thp VV'aitara river, and are much exposed, no hope is therefore entertained of saving her. It is also said that if tho Airedale had struck fiffy yards on either side of the position, she woulu have gone on to a soft sandy beach. The iron clipper ship Theophane has left Melbourne for Madras, having onboard 165 highh bivd horse*, shipped by Messrs Learmouth and Warren. Tho horses have been selected from the best studs in the country, and a liberal price h;s been given, the finest lot of horses have been got together ever sluppt d from Victoria.
