That a competent Ferryman be always in attendance, with a good safe boat and proper rope for crossing horses. 2. That all Government Officers, including road overseers, laborers, and postmen, when on duty, shall be ferried across the said river free of charge. This protection shall not be transferred without the sanction of the Superintendent. The "Warden of the district shall, on being satisfied that the Ferry service is not being conducted in a proper efficient manner, and in accordance with the above conditions, have power to suspend the operation of this protection until the matter of complaint be removed.
