Coblentz contains 20,000 prisonere--10,000 from Sedan, 3,000 from Strasbourg, and 7,000 from Metz. They are employed in the defensive works of the fortresses. Many of the prisoners captured at and about Orleans are children under 10 years old natives of Alsatia who, speaking both French and German, are found useful as spies.
