The Anchor Line p.s. Charles Edward, Captain Holmes, arrived at VVestport late on Sunday evening's tide, having left Nelson at noon on Saturday. Called at Motueka at 1 p.m. and left at 2 p.m., passing a coal-laden barque bound for Nelson. Experienced strong S.W. wind all day, which increased at night with heavy sea.
