Wallabi left Lyttelton for Westport yesterday at 12.35 p.m. The Anchor Line s.s. Kennedy left Westport yesterday afternoon for Nelson. The s.s. Murray sailed at the same time also for Nelson. The schooner Ceres took her departure for Melbourne yesterday morning at three o'clock, and was towed across the bar by the s.s. Kennedy. The schooner Northern Light sailed for Melbourne yesterday morning "in tow of the s.s. Murray, crossing the bar shortly after the Ceres. Both craft were visible ' yesterday until sunset. Tlu " Thames Advertiser" reports a serious accident which occurred on board the Challenger while at the Grahamstown wharf: " The engineer, Mr Hislop, and the fireman, had gone into the paddle-wheel to 6crew up some of the bolts in the boss. The fires were on, although steam was not up, but the valve having been incautiously left open, while the men were working steam began to generate, and the wheel to revolve.
