Bluff, January 20, 9 a.m. The s.s. Gothenburg left Hobson's Bay on the 15th instant, at 3.30 p.m., and arrived at the Bluff Heads at 12.30 a.m. on the 20th. She passed the Queen. of the Thames of Qneenscliff. Passenger List—Revs. C. J. Evans and M'Leod, Messrs Turnbull, Russell, Chaplain, Paul, Ah Ching, Kelly, Cavell, and forty-six in steerage for all ports. She brings cargo for Duuedin, 99 tons ; Lyttelton, 17 tons ; Wellington, 31 tons; and Nelson, 12 tons. VICTORIA. Melbourne, Jan. 14. The revenue for the quarter ending December 31st shows a deficiency of £45,000, and on the year £132,000, being a quarter of a million less than the Treasurer anticipated. The weather is showery. The markets continue to have an upward tendency. Flour has reached £l4 10s ; wheat 6s to 6s 3d. Oats are very firm. A dissolution is expected after the mail arrives. SOUTH AUSTRALIA.. Adelaide, Jan. 13. The new Land Bill has been lost through the Speaker giving his casting vote against it, and a compromise has been entered into with the Upper House. Furniture to the value of £750 has been forfeited, through being undervalued when entered at the Customs. NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, Jan. 13. The brig Freak has been wrecked. She was insured for £I2OO in the Australasian office. A woman named Rumple committed suicide after cuttiugthe throats of her six children. Two of them died, but the other four are likely to recover.
