Maiden Plate of 10 sovs, added to a sweepstake of 2 sovs each, second horse to save his stake, for all horses that have never started for an advertised race where more than £lO of public money was given. One mile and a distance. Weight for age. SECOND RACE. Packers' and Miners' Purse of 10 sovs, second horse to save his stake, for all horses regularly employed in packing, or regularly worked in claims or drays on the Nelson SouthWest Groldfields for three months previous to the races. Heats—one mile. Catch weights. Entry £l. THIRD RACE. The Town Plate of 30 sovs. Two and a half miles. Weight for age. Entry 3 sovs. FOURTH RA.CE. Butchers' Purse of 10 sovs. Entry 1 sov, second horse to save his stake. One and a half mile. Catch weights. Open to butchers' horses only. FIFTH RACE. Handicap Hurdle Race of 15 sovs. Two miles, over five Hurdles. Entry 2 sovs. Second horse to save his stake. SECOND DAY, "WEDNESDAY, 2Sth DECEMBER. FIRST RACE. Westport Christmas Plate of 50 sovs. Two miles, Entry 5 sovs. Handicap. SECOND RACEThe Ladies' Purse of 15 sovs. Entiy£l. One and a half miles. Weight for age. THIRD RACE. Buller Hurdle Handicap of 20 sovs. Two miles. Second horse to save his stake. One event, over five hurdles. Entry 2 sovs. FOURTH RACE. Consolation Stakes of 12 sovs, for all horses beaten at the meeting. One and a half miles. Post entry of 1 sov. Rules and Regulations. No entries will be received for any of the races except on the following conditions: — That all disputes, claims, and objections rising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall be final. The rules of the Westport Jockey Club strictly adhered to. No person Mill be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of £1 to the race fund. The foregoing rule will not affect persons who have horses entered for the Packers' and Miners' Purse, Butchers' Purse, or Consolation Stakes. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Stewards, at the Post Office. Entrance money to be enclosed with the name and age of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. No jockey allowed to ride except in the colors entered, under a penalty of £1 Is. There must be three entries, or no race. All entries to sent in addressed to the Stewards, Westport, on the 23rd December, at 9 p.m. All prizes paid at the Post Office Hotel, on 30th December, at 9 p.m. FLATTERY'S HOTEL, Main Street, Brighton.
