REGULATIONS for the ManageX ment of the WESTPORT GOVERNMENT WHARF, and Shipping alongside the same.
1. The lessee, or a man to be provided by him, shall assist in ma3<ing fast or casting off all vessels coming alongside or departing from the wharf, except on Sundays. 2. The lessee shall, at his own expense, provide and keep a good and proper lamp, at such place on the wharf as shall be fixed upon for that purpose by the Harbormaster, properly lighted from sunset to sunrise every night. 3. All vessels lying alongside the wharf will be subject, to the Harbor Regulations for the Port of Buller for the time being, and to these Eeguiations. 4. The master of any vessel hauling alongside the wharf shall, if required, lay out an anchor or aiichors, well buoyed, as directed by the Harbormaster, and shall also make fast to the wharf, as directed by the Harbormaster. 5. The master or owner of any vessel shall move his vessel from the wharf when required so to do by the Harbormaster. 6. The Wharfinger shall be responsible for all goods delivered to his charge. 7. No charge shall be made for passengers using the wharf. 8. No person, except the wharfinger or some person authorised by him shall put out or interfere with any lamp upon the wharf. 9. Any person infringing these Eeguiations will be liable to a penalty of not exceeding Five Pounds for every such, infringement, to be recovered in a summary manner.
WHARFAGE. Vessels occupying berths at the wharf will be charged with rent for every day (or part of a day) at the following rates, which shall be paid to the wharfinger before the vessel shall be removed, viz.:— s. d. Vessels not exceeding twenty tons 10 0 Vessels over twenty tons ... 20 0 Goods landed or shipped, per ton ... ... ... ... : Packages aad parcels not exceeding five cubic feet, each 0 6 StockHorses, each ... ... 5 0 Cattle, each ... ... 4 0 Sheep (for the first forty) each ... ... ... 0 3 „ (for all over forty) each 0 2 If any vessel lying alongside the wharf shall receive or discharge any goods or stock otherwise than from or upon the wharf, half whasriage shall be paid on all such goods oi* Btock so received or discharged.
