SUPERINTENDENT'S MEETING AT THE AHAURA.
(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.)
(from our own correspondent.) Greyhottth, Wednesday.
The Superintendent held a large meeting at the Ahaura on Monday night. He went, at much length, into the revenue of the Province, and the expenditure in the various districts, proving that the goldfields had had expended upon them more than the amount they contributed. He said that he was personally favorable to the annexation of North Westland to Nelson. A vote of want of confidence in the Superintendent and the Executive was passed by a large majority. The Superintendent replied that he did not care, that he was accustomed to that sort of thing. The Superintendent and Executive returned to G-reymouth to-day, and will hold a public conference with the Grey people to-night on the subject of annexation.
