SUPERINTENDENT'S MEETING.

(from our own correspondent.) Brighton, Monday, 10.20 p.m.
The Superintendent addressed a public meeting at Brighton this evening, Mr Donne, M.P.C., in the chair. He referred to the inclement weather, as a reason that not more were present.
There was an assemblage of about 120.
His Honor made very flattering allusions to the mining industry, and was frequently applauded. Questions wore put with respect to the Buller (? Br miner) coal-mine and the coat of opening-up the same, and as to the origin of the Railway Scheme between Nelson and Cohden.
His Honor replied that £2OOO of the expeuse had been charged to North-east Nelson.
His Honor and Mr Donne were cheered.
A miner exclaimed that Mr Donne should got a road to St Kilda. _ Mr Tlriele moved a confidence motion, which was carried.
The Superintendent again censured the Press. He proceeds to Charleston, to-morrow (Tuesday).
