Dr G-iles passed through en route to Brighton on Wednesday, the rain falling in torrents. He and Mr Warden Broad returned to-day ; both magistrates occupying the Bench. Only one civil case was disposed of, — Neale v. Robertson, in which the plain tiff, who is proprietor ofthe local paper, was non-suited. The amount sought to be recovered was £2 10s, for a thousand billheads, but the defendant recm Having given the order or accepted delivery. Mr Edward Harris gave evidence showing a most unbusinesslike mode of keeping accounts. No order-book was produced, nor could he furnish any "date of order or delivery ; and failed to prove that there had been any delivery. A printer gave evidence that the work had been duly performed, which constituted the whole evidence for the plaintiff. F
In the Warden's Court a few applications for water rights were disposed of.
A sale took place at the Camp Hotel to-day, when the billiard table and fittings was knocked down to Mr T. Q-. Macarthy for <£lß.
