Captain George Cook, an old settler, lately of the Bay of Islands, died suddenly at the Fijis, where he had gone iu charge of the schooner Sea Breeze. Deceased leaves a wife and a large family in Auckland. By the schooner Coquette, which arrived in Auckland on the 25th ultimo, the news was brought of the total loss of the smart schooner Queen of the Isles, of Auckland, on the Island of Apia, on the 80th July, with 99 laborers on board. The cause of this misfortune was the vessel miss-staying when near the reef. Luckily, the Spankie, of Sydney, passed on the 6t.h, and rescued the crew. The wreck was sold to the captain of the Spankie for the sum of ten pounds. The Eussian Imperial corvette Boyarin dropped her anchor in our harbor on Sunday morning from Sydney. The guns are all breech-loaders, and aro fired with prismatical powder. She has on board a complement of 23 officers and 163 men. The Boyarin left Cronstadt en the 17th of October, 1869, and on her way visited Copenhagen, Christiansand, Harwich, Brest, the Cape Verd Islands, Bahia, the Cape of Good Hope, Adelaide, Hobart Town, and Sydney.
